Bissell Carpet Cleaners

Bissell Carpet Cleaners have been a mainstay for a long time. For example, my mother in law has an inexpensive model she has been using for literally decades.

It works, it's reliable, and although she might occasionally rent a more powerful (and physically heavier) unit, say once every 10 years or so, the Bissell is perfect for her.

Bissell makes a wide range of carpet cleaners from over $300 upright models to small $30 handheld models. Where we believe they excel is in the lower price upright category, at around the $100 price point, and other reviewers agree.

The Bissell QuickSteamer PowerBrush 2080 is our favorite. It's about $100 and weighs only twelve pounds. It's a pretty incredible little machine.

It's great for spot cleaning and cleaning smaller rugs, up to say eight by eight feet. Because of its small tank, it's not ideal nor designed for large rug or whole house cleaning. You simply end up emptying the small 1/2 gallon tank too often and it's not powerful enough to move quickly like heavier and more expensive machines.

The name is a bit strange too: no complaints, but it's not a steam unit and the brush is not powered, but at $100 it's a great deal.

Well designed, easy to use, and perfect for light maintenance.

Bissell has been around for over 130 years, also makes vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, brushes, and more home cleaning tools and is family owned. I expect Bissell to be around a very long time and as stated before, there carpet cleaners also last a very long time.
